After many many months of day dreaming about cheap beer, puppies, the war chant, and hanging out with over 80,000 of your closest friends at Doak, the time has finally come!!! It's the most wonderful time of the year, and yes everyone, I'm talking about COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON!!!! Here at FSU, we like to think of game days as holidays and we celebrate in true tallanasty style. Here are some must do's in order to make each game day better than the last:
1. The outfit.
Kudos to FSU for having great school colors because this makes the first (and probably most important) step the easiest. Garnet, gold, black, white, whatever. Dresses, rompers, shorts, sandals, combat boots, you do you. If you're anything like me, you bought these outfits months ago because that's how much you crave game day (or because you're a loser like me), and this is the day where you gotta dress to impress. No matter what you wear, you're going to end up sweating and sweating everywhere. TIP: It may be smart to stay away from sticky boobs in these sweaty times or they will fall off unless severely duct taping them to self. Other tip: bralettes are God's gift to earth. Wear them. Live them. Love them. #teamnobra #teambanthebra #teambralette
2. Friday Night (but more importantly, happy hour).
Yes, game days are usually Saturdays, but the hype starts wayyyyy before then. Here at FSU, it starts at my favorite time of the week: Happy Hour. It's the perfect way to start a weekend of full of sweatiness, draaaanks, and cherished memories with all your girlies!!! If you're a brave one, you'll even go out after happy hour, and serious snaps to all those people that do it because I usually end up in bed by 10:00 with a Netflix and food night for one. There is no better way waking up on game day than hating yourself for last night's decisions. But we all know the best way to cure a hangover, just keep drinking.
3. TAILGATING!!!!!
Wooohooo the time has come!!!! You've gotten yourself together, shoved your face with Brooklyn Water Bagels , probably pre gamed, and you are READY!!!! Walk, skip, or Uber (the only acceptable time to pay $40 to go 3 miles is game day) on over to your favorite frat to show some #face and make new besties in the girls bathroom there!! It's also the perfect opportunity to talk to pledges and hear how totally wasted they were last night but still made it out alive for game day so they can really impress you. They sound SO cool, even though you know some of them were wearing cargo shorts two weeks before. Anyway, when you see the grill light up, push people over and SPRINT over there. Throw some cheese that's been sitting out in the sun for at least an hour and some warm ketchup on your bun. If you're really lucky, your burger will be fully cooked and not still frozen!! #blamejameis. Make sure to eat it as fast as possible, like seriously, shove it down your throat. Don't try to take your time or eat it cutely because nothing is cute about a burger in one hand and Kirkland beer in the other, but that's what game day is all about!!! Embrace it. Another VERY IMPORTANT part of tailgating are the PUPPIES!!!!!!!! Seriously, I think I spend more time playing with all of the puppies at tailgates than actually talking to people. You always feel for them because they're probably panting just as much as you are due to the hot rays. These are also prime picture times. What is cuter than a candid pic with a puppy? Absolutely nothing. The last part is making sure you take LOTS of selfies to document the day and to snapchat it to make sure everyone can see how cool girl you are and that your schools goes soo0 much harder than everyone else's.
OH and I guess an important part is actually going to the game!!!! Don't be a total freshman and leave before the end of a huuuuuge game like I did basically every game last year (still ashamed)!!!! You also get a good work out by having to stand the entire time and a great arm workout by doing the chop constantly.
Happy football season to all and to all a season of good, clean FUN!!!! May the rankings be ever in your favor, and may everyone not spend so much time hating FSU as much as they usually do. ~haters gonna hate~ Go Noles.
